If there is a burglar or intruder then the monitoring centre will ,after having contacted a key holder, alert the police. This extra validation could mean the police respond quicker.
Even better, the voice of the monitoring service makes it sound like the house is occupied – the burglar usually runs away before they have stolen anything or caused more damage.

Wireless security does not need cables to connect the various parts of the system together, so there is no nasty mess when the security alarm is installed. If a sensor is triggered then the voice call goes through to the 24 hour monitoring service and a real person talks to your family member. The handsfree two-way voice link means that the control centre can confirm that there really is an emergency, and if there is, they can start to give immediate reassurance to your loved one. Then the monitoring centre will ring the relevant emergency service.
You can connect wireless fire detection sensors, smoke sensors and carbon monoxide sensors. When there is a fire it is often the smoke which is the silent and deadly killer, so this type of sensor is incredibly important and really saves lives. If a sensor is triggered then the monitoring centre will try to talk to you to see if it is a false alarm, and if there is an emergency or if there is no reply then they will immediately alert the fire service.
In a business situation you might be concerned about lone workers late at night. Each person can be issued with a wireless trigger which they can use in cases of emergency.
Of course, this isn’t useful just for businesses. The same trigger can be used as a panic alarm, so if you hear someone in your home and for some reason the alarm system hasn’t triggered (perhaps it is the middle of the day and you haven’t set the burglar alarm) then you will be immediately connected to the monitoring service.
